Projects by Bridgestone Canada and Invenergy Wind Canada are getting under way in March 2010.
Last December, Bridgestone Canada, a subsidiary of Japan-based Bridgestone Corporation, announced a $40 million investment to modernize its plant in Joliette, Québec. The project, set to get under way in the second quarter of 2010, involves refitting the facility with new equipment. Bridgestone Canada specializes in developing, manufacturing and selling tires.

Invenergy Wind Canada has announced a $330 million investment in the construction of a new 139 MW wind farm in L'Ascension-de-Patapédia, Québec. Announced in November 2009 and slated to begin in March 2010, the project involves erecting 60 wind turbines, each of which has a capacity of 2.5 megawatts. Invenergy Wind Canada, a subsidiary of Chicago-based Invenergy, specializes in building and maintaining renewable energy infrastructures.
